I And My Girl Friend

My girlfriend and I both studied in an Engineering college in Bangalore. In our final year, we had been together for around 3 years. Then came the placement time, and a huge possibility that both of us might not end up in the same city. I kept on telling her that it's not in our hands, and we'll figure things out if we don't end up together. And she kept on telling me that if you really want something, you can make it happen. Few months later, both of us got placed in different MNCs. My location was fixed as Bangalore, and we were waiting for her location to be confirmed.
I was back at home, and she was in Delhi (Yes, it's kind of 2 states love story). Anyway, I got a call from her and she told me that the company offered her a position in Mysore. I knew I couldn't go to Mysore, since my company didn't have an office there. Before, I could come out of the shock, in her second breath she told me that she mailed the HR that she would only accept if there's opening in Bangalore.
As soon as I heard this, I was flabbergasted, as I knew the risk she was taking, it could have cost her the job, and it did. The HR replied that they don't have any opening in Bangalore, and she must take Mysore as her location. Without even thinking about the consequences she rejected the offer.
She didn't have any other offers at the moment, and she rejected the one she had, so she could be with me. In that quagmire of emotions, I realized what true love was. It meant to give without asking, to love without expecting.
Soon, I started feeling guilty. She was risking her career for me, I didn't even know if I could ever do the same for her.
About 5 weeks passed by, and since I had early joining date, I started working in Bangalore. Just when I thought my girlfriend had done the most sweetest thing someone had ever done for me, turns out she took out a contact with the founder of the same company, and asked him to get her located to Bangalore with the same offer letter she had rejected previously.
The founder, asked the CTO( Chief technology officer) of the company to take care of the matter, and it led to a 6 weeks halt of the training of the entire freshers batch. "All is fair in love and war"- had a completely new meaning for me
Shortly after, she joined the Bangalore office, and now we have been together for almost 5 years.
I had never experienced the immense power of love until then.
